Lifeboat: Robert Lindsay - Arrival

The twin-engined Liverpool class lifeboat, Robert Lindsay, arriving in Arbroath in July 1950 after sea trials off the Isle of Wight.

Visible, from left to right, are John Smith (Shirkey John), Archibald Smith (Bakie's Erch, the only survivor of the 1953 disaster and who died in Canada in 1984), William Smith (Polar) and Harry Swankie, mechanic.
