Veere in the 16th century

(Veere, Netherlands)

Veere was already an important trading partner by the 16th century. These buildings, De Schotse Huizen, (the Scottish Houses), beside Veere's harbour were built around this time and were used in the wool trade with the East Coast of Scotland. They now form a museum which is open between 1 April and 31 October.
