7000 Oaks: A Linear ForestAn exhibition celebrating the opening of the 7000 Oaks office at the Demarco European Art Foundation with documents, books, maps, correspondence related to '7000 Oaks', the planting of a linear forest in homage to Joseph Beuys and his monumental sculpture created for the 7th Documenta in Kassel 1982-1987. The documentation brings up to date and extends the sculpture throughout the Birtish Isles linking Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England, France, Italy, Germany and Holland with special forms on the work of the 'Border Woodland Community'. The exhibition constitutes and invitation to everyone as an artist to be involved in the planting of oak trees in groups of seven, according to the wishes of Joseph Beuys. |
